This video depicts Olga’s team distributing lice medication and other medicines to a long line of people who have been forced to now call Kharkiv metro stations their home. Read more about the situation below.Â
Once again this evil situation is getting worse for so many people. Olga’s volunteer team, the Kharkiv School of Courage, has focused much of their efforts in the past week on delivering aid to the thousands of people living in Kharkiv metro stations. Their homes have been destroyed and lands seized and now the metro station is home. Tragically, lice infestation has become a huge issue in these metro stations, so much of the aid delivered to these people is lice medication. Just watch the above video to see the line of people waiting for their snack and medicine. It is so heart-breaking to watch, but without our funding, they would not have this aid delivery at all. Another reminder of what a unique and special position we have found ourselves in through sister city connections. Below are messages from Olga:
The situation in the Kharkov region is now very dangerous, tension in the region – Russia is trying to seize our lands. Every day it becomes more and more difficult for us to organize delivery. Drivers are waiting for the shelling. we were able to deliver a new cargo – medicines and food. Yesterday we started handing out these things to people. residents of the village of Yuzhny receive the necessary medicines and food. Very grateful.Â
Our partners brought lice and pediculosis remedies to all metro stations in our city. On the video are people who live in the Kharkiv metro. The subway is now their home. The situation in Harokrva is now difficult. New defeats, strikes, new types of bombs. People live in the subway, the problem of pediculosis has become very big.
We are glad that parcels are starting to arrive. The village of Malaya Danilovka received medicines. Yesterday we managed to distribute part of the medicines. And today, heavy shelling. Looking forward to more reports and updates.
We continue to make targeted deliveries to people with special illnesses.
Thanks to everyone who cares.
