Who are we donating to in Ukraine?

No Strings Travel is all about leveraging international connections, and it just so happens that a dear and trusted friend from my Ukraine travels, Olga Fedchenko, has stepped up big time to help her country. Since Russia’s first strikes on Kharkiv, Olga has been quickly building up a grassroots army of volunteer aid workers. Olga and her team are focused on delivering food, medicine and other important supplies to sick, elderly and poor folks stuck in conflict zones, with a huge focus on Cincinnati’s Sister City of Kharkiv. With this connection, I knew that I needed to do whatever I could to get as many of our strong American dollars to Olga and her team! Your donations won’t go to paying any CEOs or International shipping or transportation costs. Every penny is used to purchase and transport aid within Ukraine by Ukrainian volunteers that just want to save their beautiful country. It does not get more effective than that!

More about Olga...

Olga Fedchenko along with her father and husband are possibly the strongest connections to Ukraine that the Sister City project has. Olga’s father, known lovingly as Professor Bulba, plays a huge role in the hosting and organization of every Cincinnatians’ trips to Kharkiv through the Sister Cities project. On my own trip to Ukraine, I stayed in the dorms of the university where Professor Bulba teaches, had dinners at his home and even taught English in one of his classes for a day! Olga was one of our cheery tour guides, proudly showing us her city daily! Olga has also visited Cincinnati numerous times through the sister cities project. One of the focuses of that project is to introduce our Ukrainian brothers and sisters to volunteerism by showing them different volunteer projects throughout Cincinnati. Olga and her family have always really loved these experiences and work to implement similar volunteer projects in Kharkiv. Jump to 2022 and she is now leading an extremely impressive team of volunteer aid workers getting aid to the most vulnerable people in the most vulnerable places. I will say it again, I doubt that there is anywhere that you could donate to where your money could be spent as effectively. It is just by pure luck that Nate knows Olga, and that luck has given us this opportunity that we cannot and should not pass up. See pictures below of what Olga has already done with our money and money from a previous personal fundraiser that Nate held.

All the good that Olga's team has done so far!
